GIA is a formost publisher of Catholic church music. Based in Chicago since 1967, originating in Pittsburgh 1941, GIA responded to the modernizing reforms of the Second Vatican Council and became a leading publisher of contemporary Catholic liturgical music.

Last week (April 20) current students from our Ecclesiology and Being Christian in America courses traveled to the Chancery Offices (Diocese of St. Cloud, MN) for an hour-long conversation with Bishop Kettler on leadership in the church as well as all kinds of questions about discernment, vocation, prayer, ministry, and the like.
RE: John Mark Feilmeyer - SOTA '06
After graduating with an MA in Liturgical Music in the Summer of 2006, John Mark Feilmeyer did two years in the Peace Corps in Benin, West Africa. He then stayed there another year to start an art cooperative: The International Center for Art and Music in Ouidah. Working with Beninese counterparts, he developed curricula in media, performing and visual arts for the center, as well as administrative infrastructure.
He is now the founder and executive director of ART FORCE IOWA, Iowa Arts in Education in Des Moines, IA.
