The Master of Theology (Th.M.) degree is a postgraduate, pre-doctoral program which prepares students for further studies. Students increase both the breadth and the depth of their knowledge of theology from a previous graduate theological degree. The program is designed to work in conjunction with the Master of Arts in Theology or the Master of Arts in Liturgical Studies degrees to provide students with a strong foundation in a foreign language, thesis research, and writing. Students in this degree program are strongly encouraged to further their doctoral preparation by studying a second foreign language. Research Assistantships are available to students approved for the Master of Theology degree as part of preparation for doctoral work.
More information about the master's thesis and language proficiency required for this degree will be available in the revised Student Handbook (.pdf).
