About the Archives

The Saint John’s University Archives collects the historical records that document the history of SJU (with some overlap with the Abbey, Prep School, and other entities on campus).

Hours
Because we staff the Archives on both campuses and respond to needs on either as needed, open hours for the Archives are irregular, but are generally within the 8 am – 4:30 pm time frame on weekdays. Advance appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.
Location
The University Archives is located on the basement level of Alcuin Library (12 on the  SJU Campus Map). After entering the library, take the main elevator to the basement; the Archives will be to your left.  Note:  See also the Saint John’s Abbey Archives.
