The Peer Resource Program (PRP) seeks to enhance the personal development of the CSB+SJU community through team-building, campus events, and school break trips.

School Break Trips

PRP and OLC provide substance-free, outdoor-focused trips during fall, winter, and spring breaks for Bennies and Johnnies. Keep an eye out for flyers and social media posts to stay up to date on these trips! If you are interested in developing your own leadership skills, watch for job openings at the OLC and the chance to apply to join PRP which are both avenues for students to develop their technical and interpersonal outdoor abilities.

Campus Events

Watch our events calendar or follow us on Instagram for events such as Swayed Pines, Apple-Palooza, campfires, bike rides and walks, Pinecone Jam, and more!

Team-Building

PRP facilitators lead groups through a variety of initiatives to promote growth within your group, team, or class.

Policies & Procedures

Basic Low Impact Ethics
PRP believes in leaving no trace of human contact in the natural environment. We sponsor outdoor programs that allow one to escape daily pressures and seek peaceful experiences while preserving the environment. Our low impact philosophy is based on the following guidelines:

  • Plan ahead and prepare
  • Camp and travel on durable surfaces
  • Dispose of waste properly
  • Minimize campfire impacts
  • Leave what you find
  • Respect wildlife
  • Be considerate of other visitors

Chemical Free Policy
In order to fully enjoy each other’s company and the environments to which we travel, the Peer Resource Program does not allow drugs, tobacco products or alcohol on our programs. Consider this policy a personal challenge for the length of the PRP sponsored program, and one which can contribute to self-growth.

Refund Policy
A participant, who withdraws from a program five working days prior to a program’s departure or start, will receive a full refund. After this point, a refund cannot be guaranteed. To cancel from a program a participant must email Lucas Wade. A PRP member cannot cancel transactions.

Join PRP

PRP is a student-run group, meeting weekly to plan events and gain skills throughout the academic year. Students apply to be accepted to the program each year. Contact [email protected] if you are interested in joining.

Mission

The Peer Resource Program (PRP) is a student group that facilitates personal growth, trust, and creativity in members through healthy risk-taking.

Philosophy

The Peer Resource Program seeks to give CSB and SJU students positive, substance-free opportunities to step outside of their comfort zone. This is facilitated by fellow student PRP members who are dedicated to creating an environment which promotes healthy risk-taking. These experiences are aimed towards personal growth, trust, wellness, communication, and group development.

These experiences take the form of the three PRP pillars: on-campus events, adventure trips, and team-building.

Inclusivity Statement:
The Peer Resource Program is committed to embracing diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. We encourage students of all identities and backgrounds, including but not limited to race, religion, color, national origin, citizenship status, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, familial status, or status with regard to public assistance to apply. Applications are reviewed anonymously. They are evaluated based on a candidate’s demonstration of leadership skills, passion for promoting the mission, and enthusiasm for growth and learning through the program.
