Jim Klobuchar to be featured guest at CSB “Book Lovers’ Night”

pieces of my heart by Jim KlobucharThe College of Saint Benedict Bookstore is hosting another “Book Lovers’ Night” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in Mary Commons, CSB. Jim Klobuchar, author of Pieces of My Heart, is the featured guest.

Klobuchar was a journalist with the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper for 30 years, and today writes periodically for the Christian Science Monitor, which in 2003 nominated him for a Pulitzer Prize.

Klobuchar is a noted adventurer, having mountain-climbed in the Himalayas, Andes and Alps.  He now leads treks in the Himalayas and South America and operates an adventure travel club, Jim Klobuchar’s Adventures. He is also the father of Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

In Pieces of My Heart, Klobuchar tells of the extraordinary people he has met in his travels who have shared with him what he now calls the grace of wild nature.

A light meal consisting of “Build Your Own Taco” will be available for $6 in Mary Commons from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Klobuchar will speak at 7 p.m. 

Bookstore browsing and a book signing will take place in the CSB Bookstore after the reading. Throughout the evening, all general books will be 20 percent off.  All are welcome to join in this fun evening!
