Brian Jose, executive director of Fine Arts Programming at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, has accepted a new position as the director of the University of Florida Performing Arts program.

His resignation will be effective Oct. 6, and Jose begins his new position in Florida this November.

Jose has been executive director of Fine Arts programming at CSB and SJU since August 2008, and in that time he has increased cross-campus collaborations and community involvement in the Fine Arts Series.

He has represented the institutions, as well as the region, on the national Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) Board of Directors from 2012-15, and received the North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents Award for Excellence in Presenting the Performing Arts in January 2014.

In 2013, he was one of four presenters chosen to travel to Pakistan as part of the Center Stage delegation, a cultural exchange program of the U.S. Department of State. He also attended the Fira Tarrega, an international market for performing arts, in 2014 in Spain as an invitee of the APAP.

Under his leadership, the Fine Arts Series at CSB and SJU has furthered its national and international reputation for excellent programming paired with creative, thoughtfully executed residency work.

Performers who have performed and held residencies at CSB and SJU under Jose's leadership include David Sedaris, Spirit of Uganda, Dave Holland, Rhythmic Circus and Black Violin.
