Kennedy Kehr is looking forward to becoming a teacher and making a difference for students – so much so that she’s ready to plan big. “My end goal is to become the United States Secretary of Education, which seems like a crazy dream right now, but that is where I can make the most systemic change and how I can change the world,” she said. She has an overwhelming passion for diversity, equity and inclusion, and she pairs that with detail-oriented professionalism. “I trust Kennedy as a student leader,” said Anna Mercedes, co-administrator of the Becoming Community Initiative, where Kehr works. “And at many times, particularly during the pandemic, I have said to her, ‘I need you to completely handle this one,’ and she does.”
