Putting Katie Wagner’s story into words is a tall task that would be better served by a writer of Wagner’s caliber. But here goes: In the classroom she has pursued an aggressive course load and maintained a 4.0 GPA. She’s taken advanced writing experiences outside the classroom including a focused four-week creative writing course through Collegio Borromeo in Pavia, Italy, and a summer Manitou Fellowship with the Minnesota Street Summer Creative Writing Workshop. She is currently collaborating with Jessica Harkins, CSB/SJU associate professor of English, to co-edit a bilingual Italian/English memoir – a project which already has an international publisher. Her service as a Writing Center tutor has been an asset to hundreds. And her leadership and mentorship have made her a star in the Theater Department.
