Grace Savard is excellent in the classroom, but that’s just part of her story. In summer 2020, she worked with Dr. Ellen Block to conduct interviews for ethnographic COVID-19 research. “Grace is engaged in a serious lifelong quest for knowledge with the goal of helping others through the application of this knowledge,” said Jeffrey Anderson, her advisor and associate professor of peace studies. She volunteers with first-year students, has worked as a caregiver in the Abbey Retirement Center and is a leader with Extending the Link. “She is one of the most joyful and service-oriented students with whom I have come in contact in 11 years of working with young adults,” said Margaret Nuzzolese Conway, director of campus ministry at Saint John’s.
