Omega Chapter of DES to induct 7 CSB students April 17

Seven students will be inducted into the Omega Chapter of Delta Epsilon Sigma (DES) Friday, April 17, at the College of Saint Benedict, St. Joseph.

The induction events will include a celebration of the Eucharist at 5 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Chapel, Saint Benedict's Monastery. A dinner and induction ceremony will follow in room 204, Gorecki Center, CSB.

DES is a national Catholic Honor Society. The applicants must maintain a 3.9 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale, and must be very involved in the community though volunteer and extracurricular activities. The purpose of DES is to recognize academic accomplishments, dedication to intellectual activity and service to others. CSB has been a member of DES since its beginning in 1940.

The CSB students who will be inducted into DES are:

  • Laura Backus, daughter of Roy and Roberta Backus of North Branch, Minnesota. Backus is a senior communication major;
  • Haley Chatelaine, daughter of John and Sally Chatelaine of Lakeville, Minnesota. Chatelaine is a junior chemistry major;
  • Nicole Gapinski, daughter of Paul and Joan Gapinski of Foley, Minnesota. Gapinski is a junior nursing major;
  • Makenzie Krause, daughter of Mark and Julie Krause of Delano, Minnesota. Krause is a junior English major;
  • Heidi Rajkowski, daughter of Mike and Sue Rajkowski of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. Rajkowski is a senior nursing major;
  • Beth Richmond, daughter of Wayne and Mary Richmond of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Richmond is a junior political science major;
  • Nikki Russell, daughter of Dave and Therese Russell of Jordan, Minnesota. Russell is a junior biology major.
