Collegeville, Minn. - Carol Marrin, director of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University bookstores, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the National Association of College Stores.

Marrin's primary duty as trustee-at-large is to ensure that the association meets the requirements established by its by-laws. Marrin is also responsible for monitoring NACS activities and approving policies that determine the association's course of action. She will interpret and promote the work of NACS, and recruit and develop volunteers for association service.

"It is an honor and a privilege to serve an association with such a national and international scope," said Marrin. "Through my years in the college store industry, I have seen NACS grow and develop significantly. Serving as a NACS trustee will enable me to help ensure the position of the association as a valued resource in this industry and throughout higher education."

Marrin has been very active in NACS. She is currently chair of the member relations committee and has served on other committees, including the education steering committee, smaller stores committee and nominating committee.

Marrin has also been active in the Tri-State Bookstore Association, serving as president in 1986, 1988, and 1995-96.

Marrin's term as NACS trustee will run through April 2000.
