Dr. Bradley Miller – Chamber Choir/Men’s Chorus

Dr. Bradley Miller is Associate Professor of Music at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University where he oversees and leads the choral program, conducts the CSB+SJU Chamber Choir and SJU Men’s Chorus, and teaches courses in conducting and music education. Additionally, he serves as the artistic director for Christmas with Saint Ben’s and Saint John’s. Previous to this appointment, Dr. Miller led the choral program at the University of Minnesota Morris. He has also served on the faculty of Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and as a high school choral director at Blaine High School in Blaine, Minnesota.

An active guest conductor, presenter, clinician, and adjudicator, Dr. Miller has enjoyed recent engagements in California, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Oregon, and West Virginia. He has conducted internationally as well, most recently representing the United States and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) as a conducting fellow as part of the International Conductor Exchange Program. This brought him to São Paulo, Brazil where he was in residence with the Coral Santa Marcelina at the Colégio Santa Marcelina in Botucatu.

Dr. Miller is the Founder and Artistic Director of Ensemble Intersection, a semi-professional chamber choir which unites elite professional vocalists with select local and collegiate singers. He is also a dedicated church musician and currently serves as Director of Choral Music at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Saint Cloud.

Dr. Miller is a contributing author of several repertoire resource guides in volume 3 of Teaching Music through Performance in Choir, published by GIA. He also co-authored “The Conductor’s Perspective,” a collection of interviews with some of the nation’s foremost conductors, published in the Choral Journal in the fall of 2008. Additionally, he has published articles in the state ACDA journals of Arizona, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Dr. Miller’s professional affiliations include ACDA, the Minnesota Music Educators Association, and the National Collegiate Choral Organization. He served as Repertoire and Resources Chair for Student Activities for ACDA-MN from 2015-2019 and as Repertoire and Standards Chair for Youth and Student Activities for the Iowa Choral Directors Association from 2013-2014.

Dr. Miller earned a D.M.A. in choral conducting from The University of Arizona, an M.M. in choral conducting from the University of Minnesota, and a B.A. in music education from Concordia College, Moorhead. He and his wife, Ana, have two sons, Nicholas and Lucas.
