In February 2011, we had a study tour of the public transportation system in Minnesota and the Twin Cities. Students and faculty began the day by taking the North Star Commuter Rail from Big Lake to Minneapolis, and then they met with representatives from Metro Transit, Transit for Livable Communities, the Minnesota Transportation Committee, and the St. Paul Light Rail Corridor Extension Project. Everyone who participated found it to be a fantastic learning experience. Below are some photos of the participants.

A group of ten people wearing yellow safety vests and white hard hats pose together inside a large, empty building with high ceilings and arched windows.
Passengers standing and holding onto handrails inside a bus or tram. A man in a green jacket is smiling. An advertisement on the wall reads, "Pull the trigger on savings." The interior appears crowded.
Three people sit at a table on a train, with a man and woman smiling and another man looking at the camera. They are dressed in casual winter clothing. The train window shows a blurred outdoor landscape with trees and a stone wall.
