Leah Rado: Director, CSB Athletic Media Relations
After getting her first hockey stick for Valentine's Day at the age of three, Leah Rado's dream was to be the first woman to start a regular-season NHL game. That didn't work out as planned (although she did win a teddy bear for being the winning goalie in a shootout at a hockey tournament her senior year of high school), but she found the next best thing in a career in sports writing.
After graduating from UW-Eau Claire, Leah packed her bags and headed to the wild west of Mitchell, South Dakota, where she lived two blocks from the World's Only Corn Palace for two years. For three years Leah worked at the Mitchell Daily Republic — where she became South Dakota's first female sports editor — and then she transitioned to sports information when she took a job at Dakota Wesleyan University.
In her position in athletic media relations at CSB, Leah does everything but coaching, budgeting and popcorn sales. She updates the CSB athletics website, writes press releases and runs the Blazers' social media accounts. She also does in-game stats, photography, graphic design and makes sure the livestream is up and running for home games.
When Leah isn't behind a camera or a computer, she enjoys anything active, hanging out with George and Rudy — her two rescued wiener dogs — and trying to keep plants and flowers alive at the house she recently bought.
