The entry from can be found here or in the library.
The Clemens Library of the College of Saint Benedict will once again be the venue for an Art Contest and Show sponsored by the joint libraries. The Libraries are inviting any student at CSB/SJU to submit artwork. The show will be juried by members of the Art Department and the Library, and the selected works will be awarded cash prizes and displayed in the gallery space of the Clemens Library. If you entered last year, do not hesitate to enter again this year! Entries to the contest must be submitted by March 12, 2015 to David Malone in Clemens Library (CSB) or to Kelly Kraemer in Alcuin Library (SJU). Students may submit up to three pieces unless it is a series which consists of more than 3 pieces. This contest is open to all CSB/SJU students, not just Art Majors!
Work in all two-dimensional and three-dimensional media will be accepted including but not necessarily limited to sculpture, painting, prints, drawings, photographs, jewelry, ceramics, video, computer or artist’s books. Work created in classes is certainly eligible. All work should be suitably framed (in whatever way the artist thinks is appropriate to the piece) and ready for hanging.
The artwork should be accompanied by a typed statement relating the intentions, motivations, or themes of the artist. The statement should be approximately 100 words. The prizes include 1st place of $300, 2nd place of $200 and 3rd place of $100. The contest is sponsored by the Clemens Library of the College of Saint Benedict and the Alcuin Library of Saint John's University with the assistance of members of the CSB/SJU Art Faculty.
The work will be displayed in the Clemens Library from March 13 – March 31. For more information contact David Malone (firstname.lastname@example.org).
All reasonable care and precaution will be taken in the handling, storing, and installing of the artworks submitted for this contest. Neither the Libraries nor the jury committee will be responsible for damage to works while in our possession. Submission to this contest shall imply agreement to all conditions of the contest.
