Ballet Hispánico

As part of Hispanic Heritage month, Fine Arts Programming is bringing award-winning Ballet Hispánico for a campus residency.  Their formal performance on October 12 explores identities and choreographies of Spain and Latin America and the United States. This professional ballet troupe also does a great deal of outreach work teaching and promoting dance in New York City.  Hispanic Studies is partnering in this event.

There have three opportunities for our students:

  1. We have organized a workshop/social dance experience for students in Christina Hennessy’s Culture of Spain HISP 335 and Bruce Campbell’s Latin American Culture HISP 336.  This will be October 9 at 4:15 in Escher auditorium, CSB.
  2. There is an open Latin Social Dance and appetizer bar event on Oct. 11 at 7:30 in Escher.
  3. The JEC has purchased a number of tickets for students to attend the public performance of Ballet Hispánico (Oct 12 7:30pm in the Escher). They are available through the BAC box office (either in person or online) on a first come/first serve basis.
