Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you decide on this program?

I chose to study abroad because I wanted to experience something new and fun. Being a native Spanish speaker, I found myself drawn to Spain for its Spanish language and its rich history. It was truly an amazing place and a great experience.

Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your program that made a lasting impression.

During Feria, it was a fun time to see a significant tradition in Sevilla. From the traditional wear to the foods, it was a great time to spend with locals and new friends.

Based on your experiences abroad, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

Studying abroad in Sevilla helped me grow more as an individual. I got to experience and learn many things that I would not be able to do in the U.S. I stepped outside of my comfort zone and embraced a new culture by taking fun Spanish electives that gave me a new cultural perspective.

What advice can you offer for CSB+SJU students who are considering or planning to study abroad?

My advice for studying abroad would be to take the opportunity now. Studying abroad can be scary but it is a brave thing to do to get the experience and make many core memories during your undergrad years.
