Have you participated in past Alternative Break Experience (ABE) Trips?

Being bilingual is not a requirement.
We require drivers to be 20 years of age or older as of January 6th, 2017 for winter trips and March 3rd, 2017 for spring trips, have a valid driver's license and be an acceptable driver according to the description below. Considering that, would you be willing to take the defensive driving course and drive a minibus during your ABE trip? (If you answer "no," skip the next question.)
To all possible drivers:
This is to inform you that the ABE program, in conjunction with CSB Security, will be running Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) checks on all possible drivers to determine driver eligibility. The MVR checks will be run both one month and one week prior to the ABE departures. Please note the following restrictions:

Driving while intoxicated or under the influence (DWI, DUI)
License suspension
Reckless driving
Drug Charges

Due to the number of applications we receive each year, we cannot guarantee a Co-Leader position to each applicant or for any one particular trip. Knowing your top 3 choices, all other trip interests, reading about your interest in the program, interest in specific trips, and leadership abilities helps us select and pair Co-Leaders.

Each year wonderfully qualified Co-Leader applicants, that we are unable to offer a Co-Leader position to, continue on to interview for a Participant position for a trip of their choice.

Everyone who returns from an ABE trip, regardless of their position, believes they were on 'the best' trip with 'the best' group, so if you don't get your first choice, don't be disappointed. You are still going to have a fantastic experience with a wonderful group of peers.

Thank you for your understanding.

We try our best to accommodate your top choice, but that's not always possible. Please indicate all of your other interests.

Spring Break Interests:

Do you have any behavior/conduct violations on your record?

By checking "I Agree," I certify that the information I have provided on the application is complete, accurate and true to the best of my knowledge.

Furthermore, I understand that I must be in good academic standing and not on academic or disciplinary probation in order to participate on a CSB ABE program.

I further agree to the release of my disciplinary and housing record to the CSB Campus Ministry Office.

By clicking "submit" at the bottom of this page, you signify that if you are offered a trip and accept, you are committed to fulfilling all of the responsibilities of a Co-Leader as set forth by the ABE Coordinators.

Applications are due September 13th at noon.

The next step in the application process is to sign up for an interview slot. The time you select below is your interview time. The CSB Campus Ministry Office is located in Upper Mary Commons. Interviews will take place September 14th through the 20th. Availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If you have any questions, feel free to call ABE Coordinator, Assistant Director of CSB Campus Ministry, Carley Castellanos (5074), or email us at abe@csbsju.edu
