Past Reunion Awards Recipients

Each year, the CSB Alumnae Board, on behalf of College of Saint Benedict, presents Reunion Awards to outstanding alumnae from reunion years whose daily lives reflect and honor the Benedictine tradition and mission of our alma mater.

Descriptions of the three awards - Distinguished Alumna Award, Decade Award and the Benedictine Service Award - are listed below.

Denise DeVaan

Mary Kay Ketter Carle '61

Distinguished Alumna Award honors an alumna who has distinguished herself for outstanding achievements in her chosen profession and has made a lasting contribution in her field as a role model and leader for all alumnae.

Alumnae Profile: "I never felt that I was 'smart' when I was a student at Saint Ben's, because there were so many bright girls," recalls Mary Kay Ketter Carle '61. "But the sisters seemed to understand there was more to a person than just their intelligence. And I appreciated that. Debby  (Beumer) Bradly '86

Benedictine Service Award honors an alumna who has made a significant impact on those around her for her continued commitment and contributions to community service and social justice at a regional, national or international level. Also demonstrates a commitment to the Benedictine spirit of giving hospitality, love of others, listening and social stewardship.

Alumnae Profile: By living according to Saint Benedict's Rule, members of a community like ours cultivate love of God, neighbor and self through listening, worship and balanced, humane living. Mary Uran

Mary Winzenburg Uran '06

Decade Award honors a 2005 alumna who is recognized by her peers as a great role model and leader for younger alumnae because her outstanding career achievements, representing global consciousness and community involvement in her chosen profession.

Alumnae Profile: When she graduated in 2006 with a double major in political science and communications, Mary Winzenburg Uran hit the ground running-and she hasn't stopped since. Mary's background in public health and nutrition, her love of running and her visionary leadership have all played key roles in starting the successful Girls on the Run program in the Twin Cities.  [Read full profile]
