Dialogue Groups

We are working toward inclusion in a way that transforms who we are now as we become something new together — something we can co-create.

In spring of 2019 we announced an opportunity to involve this work in a long term and individualized way by joining a Dialogue Group. Groups were created fall of 2019 and met regularly through December 2020. They were made up of a balanced mix of staff, faculty, monastics, students, alumni, and community members. Each group had its own distinct focus topic related to transformative inclusion. The Dialogue Groups aimed to build relationships and discussions to ultimately put forth recommendations for institutional change.

Our call to transformative inclusion requires us to actively and assertively shape and influence not only the campus experience but also the neighboring environment to create a community where all students and members can fully participate. We ultimately seek to empower our students, faculty, staff and community partners to co‐create institutional structures and practices that reflect the pursuit of a just, equitable, and sustainable future.

Dialogue Group Topics

The Becoming Community Dialogue Groups have helped shape institutional change for inclusion in relation to their group topics.  There were more than 300 individuals in the Dialogue Groups, including students, staff, faculty, monastics, alumni, and local community members!  Groups met from 2019 through winter 2020.
