Academic Plan for Art, Major Concentration

Recommended course arrangement

  • ART 118 (4) – Design: 2D/4D
  • ART 119 (4) – Design: 3D/Drawing
  • ART 248 (2) – Sophomore Topics (Fall Only) (Spring Only, CD Mod)
  • ART 230 (4) – Art Moves I: Neolithic to 1450 (Formerly 240G) OR
  • ART 260 (4) – Art Moves II: 1450 to 1850 (Formerly 240H)
    • one of these may be postponed to Year 3
    • pre-requisite or co-requisite for ART 300
    • one may be available on study abroad (Greco-Roman)
  • 1 – 2 Studio Art Classes (200 Level)
  • ART 300 (4) – Modern and Contemporary Art
    • may be available on study abroad (London)
  • 1 – 3 Studio Art Classes (200 and 300 Level)
Fall Semester: 
  • ART 351 (4) – Senior Studio Thesis (Fall Only)
Spring Semester:
  • 352 (2) – Senior Studio Thesis II (Spring Only, AB Mod, evening course)
  • Or ART 355 (1) Senior Studio Exibition for ART Education students only

16 credits of Studio Art Classes are required, with at least 4 credits at the 300 level, but additional studio classes at the 200 or 300 level benefit the art student.
