Boz Bostrom is a professor of accounting and finance. Boz is a 1995 graduate of Saint John’s where he majored in accounting and minored in Spanish. While at Saint John’s, Boz played varsity football and earned 2nd team Academic All-American honors. He also studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain. Boz also has a Master’s Degree in Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota and has held an active CPA license since 1997.
Boz worked for nine years in the Big 4 accounting firms performing international tax and finance work. He was with Arthur Andersen during the Enron scandal, although thankfully he never worked on the Enron account. In 2004, Boz left Deloitte as a Senior Manager to return to his alma matter as a faculty member.
Boz has taught nearly twenty different courses at CSB/SJU. He currently focuses on principles, tax, and financial modeling courses, and he also teaches courses on Leadership, College Success, and Private Equity to students from all majors. He was named the 2021 Faculty Advisor of the year and received the 2020 Alumni Achievement Award.
Boz speaks nationally on ethical leadership and other topics at major conferences and for accounting firms, corporations, governmental agencies, and not-for profit agencies. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Society of CPAs, as is currently the Chair Elect.
Boz is the author of three books. A Legacy Unrivaled is the story of Boz’s close friend and all-time college football wins leader, John Gagliardi.I Believe is a memoir he co-wrote with Johnnie legend and philanthropist Bill Sexton, ’55. Boz’s first novel, The New Start, was released in November of 2021 and is available on Amazon or by emailing Boz directly.
In his free time, Boz enjoys growing potatoes, cooking chicken wings, promoting the ACCOUNTING brand, lifting weights, and attending as many Saint Ben’s and Saint John’s events as possible.
