Students on France program live and study in Montpellier, one of France's fastest-growing cities and home to thousands of university students from around the world. Near both the Mediterranean Sea and the Cévennes Mountains, a semester in Montpellier give students easy access to the cultural activities and historical sites of the city and the beauty of the natural world. An overnight excursion to the medieval cities of Carcassonne, Lagrasse and the Cathars' castles, and day trips across the south of France included. The program is offered with the partnership of the University of Minnesota’s Montpellier Study Abroad Program. Students live two to a family with French families. There is no language prerequisite for this program. All students take the Study Abroad Seminar course taught by the CSB/SJU faculty director and a French language class at their appropriate level. Students also select from a variety of courses, taught in French or English, the can fulfill Integrations Curriculum and major/minor requirements. Students with 2 years of French can complete an internship during their semester abroad.
