Application Deadline: Rolling Admission
The Concentration in Pastoral Care provides a strong Catholic theological foundation for practices of care with the sick, aging, grieving, and dying, as well as individual and community practices of forgiveness and reconciliation.
Graduates will be able to serve as chaplains in hospitals, elder care facilities, and prisons, as well as pastoral associates for care ministries in parishes. This degree prepares a graduate to be certified by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains.
Students are required to take HCHR 402 and HCHR 404. They select 1 course (3 credits) each in Old Testament, New Testament, Systematic Theology, Moral Theology, and Liturgy, and Field Education.
