Haeg '67 Co-Authors “The Nature of Saint John’s”

Larry Haeg '67 and Jennifer Kutter '03 author "The Nature of Saint John's." It is the first comprehensive field guide to the natural and human history of the Saint John's Abbey Arboretum. The book is due to be out in early September.

The book chronicles the Arboretum's many hiking trails, the native vegetation and wildlife, and the Benedictine stewards that pioneered the founding and the preservation of the Arboretum. The field guide also includes meditation and prayer for spiritual renewal.

The Saint John's Abbey Arboretum boasts as Minnesota's largest arboretum and includes one of the state's finest forests of native oak, the state's first reforesting project, and its oldest planted pines. The arboretum is more than 2,500 acres of lakes, prairie, oak savannah, and forest owned by Saint John's Abbey and surrounding Saint John's University.
