Blazers earn 19th national Division III volleyball tournament appearance

The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team faces the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the opening round of the NCAA Division III volleyball championship at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota.

It's the Blazers fourth consecutive trip to the national tournament, and 19th appearance overall.

The Blazers enter the tournament with a 21-9 overall record. CSB lost in the MIAC semifinals to eventual champion St. Thomas on Nov. 6.

The Pointers, who won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title for the second year in a row, are ranked No. 7 in the nation and own a 29-4 overall record.

The two teams played on Aug. 30 at St. Joseph, with the Pointers winning a 3-2 match.

The winner of Thursday's match advances to play the winner of the St. Thomas-Coe College match at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14.
