Lunch & Learn is a professional development opportunity for you as an employee of CSB/OSB to learn more about Benedictine aspects of your work.  Lunch and Learn meetings take place during the noon lunch hour, last aproximately 1 hour, and include a meal.  There is time for conversation and questions.  All faculty and staff of CSB/SJU, SJA, OSB, CSM are welcome to attend.

Stability/Sustainability
How the Benedictine vow of stability leads to the
values of sustainability and stewardship

Please join your colleagues for this informal, yet insightful, event.

Tuesday April 29, 2008
11:30 am to 1:00 pm
Alumnae Hall, HCC at CSB

S. Phyllis Plantenberg and S. Patricia Ruether will share what their vow of stability means to them and how it is lived out in their lives at Saint Benedict’s Monastery. They will engage in conversation about practical ways all can be better stewards of our earth, particularly in the area of food productions and usage. S. Phyllis is founder and director of Common Ground Garden, the CSA sponsored by the monastery. S. Pat is the coordinator of the monastery foodservices. Both are very committed to being as “green” as possible and promoting the use of local foods.

This Lunch and Learn is a special presentation in preparation for Heritage Day ‘08.

Our theme for Heritage Day is

Stewardship and the Family Table.
