I just wanted to take a quick minute and thank each of you for the wonderful recognition this morning.
It's such an honor to be recognized by people throughout this college. I'm awestruck with the thought that I was selected as the recipient of this prestigious honor. I must give credit where credit is due and part of that needs to be extended to Mike. He's instilled in me a work ethic, a desire, and most of all a passion for doing a good job.
I've become innovative, creative, and expressive through my writing and work with Mike. Over four years, I've matured as a person through this job, learning how to be a professional ... learning to take criticism good and bad ... learning to understand the needs of others ... learning the importance of a good hand-shake ... and learning how to take a compliment with my head held high.
Also, I must recognize the athletes that allow me to tell their stories and tap into their lives. They are the people that make my job fun and rewarding. I represent a unique and special group of women, better known as my peers.
Most of all I want to thank you for the recognition and honor. Thank you for making me feel special this morning, I'm lost for words on how to describe what it's like to have my name be said. I love what I do, and I promise I will keep doing it as long as I can.
