The Collegeville Conference on Music, Liturgy, and the Arts (CCMLA) is an annual event sponsored in conjunction with Saint John's School of Theology·Seminary, The Liturgical Press, and Saint John's University Music Department.
The 2011 Collegeville Conference on Music, Liturgy, and the Arts: Implementing the New Missal will address the new texts and music of the revised Roman Missal which are so important for our worship and liturgical expression. We will study the Latin used for the new translations so we may better understand the foundations of the new English texts; we will examine Holy Week with the new Missal for an approach to a specific season of paramount importance; we will walk through changes in theology reflected in preceding missal revisions, and the current one, to gain historical perspective; we will be guided through pastoral implementation of new Missal texts and music in our parishes; and we will embrace visual art expressions which can aid textual and musical expressions in the liturgy.
