Area of Focus/Research/Teaching Interest
  • Primary interest in and teaching of organ and keyboard as leader of liturgical music and music for worship.  Includes basic, midlevel and advanced organ, service playing and improvisation. Have also taught course Music in the Liturgy.

  • Originally from Buffalo, NY, region, extensive study in areas per listing above.  In addition to academic career, including  MSU, Mankato, MN, Western Mich. U, Kalamazoo, MI and SJU, extensive professional experience as recitalist, presenter, recording artist, appearances at conferences across country, Europe. Also extensive experience at conferences on worship, theological aspects of liturgy and music.

  • Commercial recordings on American Organ Archive label, Sonus Luxque label.  Frequent appearances on nationally syndicated MPR program, “Pipedreams.” Over fifteen major research articles and reviews in professional journals, Worship, The American Organist, The Diapason, The Tracker. Solo recitalist in over twenty stated in USA, Canada and seven European countries.  Includes Vienna Festival Weeks, Sibelius Festival in Finland and Prague spring festival.

  • Founded and laid out original plans for M.A., Liturgical Music, SJU.  Also founded summer Collegeville Conference on Music, Liturgy and the Arts, directed same.  Principal advisor in M.A. program.
