Spirituality

In Emmaus Hall

Community prayer--in the form of celebrations of the Eucharist and midday prayer--is a strong resource for spirituality within the School of Theology and Seminary. When classes are in session, the Eucharist is celebrated in the Emmaus chapel each Monday morning, while midday prayer, as part of the weekly "Convivium" celebration, is prayed on Thursdays.

Students plan these liturgies, and together with faculty and staff members, fill the ministry roles. A variety of priests, including monks of Saint John's Abbey, students in the School of Theology and Seminary, and others from the surrounding community, preside at Eucharist.

Group spiritual companioning is available to students throughout their time at Saint John's. Students, faculty, and staff members are encouraged to participate in the school's annual retreat.
