Need for Endowed Chairs and Professorships

Saint John's School of Theology and Seminary knows Endowed Chairs and Professorships are the highest honor colleges and universities can bestow to recruit and retain top notch faculty, to provide release time to undertake research and improve teaching, and to raise the stature and visibility of the institution in the academic marketplace. It also says something about the vision, intellect, importance or achievement of the individuals whose names honor the professor or chair holders.  Income from such endowments not only support professor salaries, but more importantly related departmental programs and activities, such as research opportunities, book acquisitions, visiting speakers and much more.
