Metten Court Apartments

Constructed in 1991, the Metten Court Apartments functioned as apartment-style housing options for upperclass students, with 12 apartment units housing a total of 44 students. Each apartment was 1,100 square feet and consisted of a kitchen, social space, bathroom, and individual bedrooms.  They were constructed in response for an increased demand for apartment style living.

The apartments are named after the location of Saint John’s founding abbey in Bavaria and took $1.4 million dollars to construct, with the architectural firm for the project done by Frederick Bentz, Milo Thompson and Robert Rietow, Inc, of Minneapolis. 

Metten Court was razed on August 29, 2022 to make room for another section of the Seton Townhomes
