Major: Peace Studies
Variety is the Spice of Life

“I chose peace studies because it challenged me to become socially active, aware, and more open-minded. It was an interdisciplinary major that called for me to work closely with my advisor to select courses that fulfilled the focus of my major, which is peace-studies in medicine. This way I could take classes from a variety of different departments that were relevant to attending medical school.”

Taking a Stand

“A peace studies major is someone who is socially conscious and active. He or she is someone who recognizes injustice in the world, is bothered by its presence and wants to do something about it.”

It’s All About Relationships

“The relationships I have developed with my professors have been the most interesting and rewarding experience that I had at Saint Ben's and Saint John’s. I loved getting to know my professors outside of the classroom, hearing about their own life experiences and the knowledge that they were so willing to share.”
