“Peace Studies is a discipline that can fit into everyone’s interests and studies. It does not matter what type of person you are, the type of politics that you advocate, or the religion that you practice. Peace Studies will help you see the world in a new way, be open to new opinions, and respect each other’s viewpoints.”
Jenni Beach graduated from the College of Saint Benedict in May of 2000. Jenni became interested in Peace Studies after taking an introductory course in Peace Studies. During her undergraduate years, Jenni traveled to Costa Rica to volunteer as an elementary school teacher. Both her studies and travel experiences have helped Jenni to shape an awareness of international issues as well as a commitment to social change.
Currently Jenni is a second-year law student at the University of St. Thomas. She also volunteers for Catholic Charities at the Migrant Services Office. She feels that the Peace Studies program at CSB/SJU has given her an invaluable experience and helped her to remain committed to social justice issues and public interest work both in her legal work and in her daily life.
