Cancellation Policies

Withdrawal from a study abroad program must be made in writing to the Office for Education Abroad. OEA reserves the right to not fill a space resulting from a student's withdrawal.

Refunds for tuition and any recoverable fees on the program site are made to any student who withdraws during the semester abroad by formal written notice according to the general refund policy in the Course Catalog.

In the case of withdrawal due to serious health matters and accidents, all recoverable fees will be refunded with the exception of the application fee. Written notification from the student is required, in addition to a doctor's statement.


Cancellation Fees/Dates for CSB/SJU Semester Study Abroad Programs

Fall Semester Programs

Australia, Chile

  • $250.00 plus any fees unrecoverable for cancellation April 1 - May 31
  • $500.00 plus any fees unrecoverable for cancellation on or after June 1

Austria, China, France, Galway, Germany, Greco/Roman, Japan, London, Roman/Greco

  • $250.00 plus any fees unrecoverable for cancellation April 1 - June 30
  • $500.00 plus any fees unrecoverable for cancellation on or after July 1 

Spring Semester Programs

Cork, Coventry, Guatemala, India, London, Northern Ireland, Spain

  • $250.00 plus any fees unrecoverable for cancellation May 1 - October 31
  • $500.00 plus any fees unrecoverable for cancellation on or after November 1

Australia, Germany, South Africa

  • $250.00 plus any fees unrecoverable for cancellation May 1 - November 30
  • $500.00  plus any fees unrecoverable for cancellation on or after December 1
