DESTIN, Fla. - There was good news and bad news for the Saint John's University golf team during Wednesday's second round of the NCAA Division III golf tournament.

The good news? The Johnnies are sixth in the team competition with a two-round, 36-hole total of 596.

Want more good news? The Johnnies - who easily made the 15-team cut to continue play in the tournament - have two more days and 36 holes to try and capture their third national golf title and first since 2008.

Transylvania University (Kent.) and the University of Texas at Tyler are the co-leaders in the team tournament, with 579 totals.

The bad news? SJU slipped just a bit from its first-round performance on Tuesday, when it was tied for fourth.

In the individual portion of the tournament, SJU's Dennis Granath (Bandhagen, Sweden/Farsta Gymnasium) is tied for 11th with a two-day total of 145. He is eight strokes behind individual leader Cameron Button of Southwestern University, who has a 137 total.

The tournament continues Thursday, May 16, and concludes Friday, May 17.
