Dakha Brakha postpones April 20 show at Gorecki Family Theater
December 4, 2017
An upcoming performance in the Fine Arts Series at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University has been postponed.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dakha Brakha has canceled its entire spring 2018 tour. The group was scheduled to perform April 20 at the Gorecki Family Theater, Benedicta Arts Center at CSB.
Their performance has been rescheduled for April 5, 2019, at the Stephen B. Humphrey Theater, SJU.
Current ticket holders will be offered the opportunity to exchange their tickets for any 2017-18 Fine Arts Series event, or they will receive a refund.
Dakha Brakha is a world-music quartet from Kyiv, Ukraine. Reflecting fundamental elements of sound and soul, they create a world of unexpected new music. The name Dakha Brakha means give and take in the old Ukrainian language.
The group was created in 2004 at the Kyiv Center of Contemporary Art by the avant-garde theater director Vladyslav Troitskyi. Theater work has left its mark on the group’s performances — their shows have never been staged without scenic effects.
