Mission Statement
Welcome to the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University Libraries and Archives. The CSB and SJU Libraries serve the combined student body with a joint staff and coordinated programs and services. We are pleased to be active partners in teaching, learning and scholarship for our students, faculty, and visitors. The CSB and SJU Libraries support the development of critical thinking, personal inquiry, creative expression, and lifelong learning. Our excellent services include rich collections, expert assistance and effective learning spaces at both Clemens Library (CSB) and Alcuin Library (SJU).
Our Mission
We connect our communities to knowledge in order to enhance learning, teaching, scholarship, and creativity.
The CSB and SJU Libraries commit to the Institutional Statement on Diversity in fulfilling their mission.
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice
The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University Libraries, in keeping with our Benedictine values, will listen to marginalized people and amplify their voices. We will actively speak out against racism and injustice, and work to uphold the dignity of all.
The CSB and SJU Libraries are on the original homeland of the Dakhota and Anishinabee peoples. We honor and respect the indigenous peoples who were forcibly removed from, and who are still connected to this territory.
