Visions of possibilities will come alive as we reflect together. We will consider ways we can navigate the challenge of responding to our primary call from God: to become aware of who we are and who God is calling us to become so we can love as God loves. We will also explore options from which we can draw to nurture and be nurtured by those in our circle of family and friends as well as those in our diverse society.
Saturday, February 12, 2011
Haehn Campus Center, Alumnae Hall
College of Saint Benedict
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Our conference presenter will be Reverand Safiyah Fosua, Director of Invitational Preaching, General Board of Discipleship, United Methodist Church. Safiyah will share with us how her calling to service has guided and been integral to her journey to God. She will also help us reflect on our primary vocation to love and explore options from which we can draw to nurture and be nurtured by those in our circle of family and friends as well as those in our diverse society.
Small and large group conversations will focus on questions such as "What does it mean to be a spiritual leader? How can we express ourselves in leadership to those we meet within our daily lives? What are ways we can navigate the dynamics of change within our faith communities and be open to new ways of seeing and acting?"
We welcome everyone to our conference. We look forward to drawing upon our personal and professional faith experiences and traditions as we explore the many ways God is calling each of us to Open Our Horizons.
