Companions on a Journey
By Sister Sharon Nohner, OSB, Director of CSB Campus Ministry
Companions on a Journey, a group spiritual companioning program for women at CSB, kicked off the year with a fall welcome and orientation banquet on Sept. 16.
Journey Groups are composed of about five Bennies from the same grade and two women co-facilitators from the faculty, monastic community or broader St. Joseph community. Each Journey Group meets monthly to share their reflections on life and faith.
Of the 46 Journey Groups that will meet during the 2012-2013 academic year, nine new groups were formed for first-year Bennies and three new groups were formed for sophomore Bennies. The remaining 34 groups comprise returning students and facilitators.
Journey Groups will focus discussions on building strong foundations as leaders in the Church and in the world.
This is the first year that the Companions on a Journey program has fallen under the auspices of CSB Campus Ministry. Sister Sharon Nohner, OSB, the new coordinator for the Companions on a Journey program, is assisted by CSB junior Jenny Line and CSB sophomore Alyssa Terry.
