Director of Annual Giving

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Institutional Advancement of the College of Saint Benedict invites applications for the full time position of Director of Annual Giving.   As a key member of the institutional advancement (IA) team, the director of annual giving is responsible for the strategic management of a comprehensive annual giving program in support of the mission of the college. The director devises and implements strategies to grow annual contributions to $3.5 million per year. The director leads, manages a staff of four, and as a key member of the IA team, plays a central role in fundraising to meet annual goals and in formulating and executing college relations strategies and messages. The director manages a portfolio of prospects and solicits annual gifts of $1,000 or greater. In collaboration with other staff members, the director manages all annual giving activities to expand the donor base and ensure annual fund goals are met.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree required; minimum of three years demonstrated fund raising experience with proven ability to personally solicit contributions from individuals; direct marketing or related experience with ability to devise themes and key messaging strategies; experience segmenting audiences to create specific solicitation plans for each audience to achieve optimal results; strong creative and organizational skills and excellent problem-solving ability.  Detail oriented with strong analytical ability; experience recruiting, training and supporting volunteers; strong managerial, leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to provide direction and motivation to others.  Excellent computer, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.  A valid drivers’ license with an acceptable motor vehicle report is required. Travel and the ability to work extended hours, including some evenings and weekends as needed is required.
