The Department of Culinary Services at the College of Saint Benedict, invite applications for the full time position of Assistant Manager. This position will assist the Manager of Culinary Services with the overall management and coordination of food service activities for the college dining operation. Duties may include but are not limited to: provides leadership and direction to leads and student managers and represents management as the decision maker when the manager is not on duty; assists with the hiring, orientation and training of all dining service personnel; prepares work schedules and provides instruction for all service staff including bakery, retail and dish room; monitors the serving area during meal service times and directs all aspects of service including the dish room. This position will assist in developing methods to creatively promote healthy food choices and elevate the awareness of nutrition among students and community members. Hours for this position is 2:00 p.m. -10:30 p.m. during the Academic year. Hours over the summer will vary.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required and two years supervisory experience in a college or other high volume foodservice preferred. Valid MN drivers license is required. ServSafe Certification is preferred. Successful candidates will be required to complete ServSafe Certification within one year of employment. Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated effective leadership skills required. Must have the ability to define and problem solve in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will be customer service oriented and functions well in a team environment. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion with or without assistance.
