Tuesday, April 4th - Matt Batt

Join the English Department as we welcome author Matt Batt to our student reading April 4 at 7 pm Brother Willie's Pub. Matthew Batt's fiction and nonfiction have appeared in Tin house, Mid-American Review, The Isthmus, and elsewhere. Enjoy a reading from Matt as well as student performances of their personal writings.

Wednesday, March 22nd - Eamonn Wall

Acclaimed poet Eamonn Wall is the author of seven collections of poetry, his most recent being Junction City: New and Selected Poems 1990-2015 (2015). Join us for a conversation with Eamonn Wall, honoring Sr. Colman O'Connell, OSB. This event is presented by SJU pottery artist-in-residence, Richard Bresnahan and SJU University Chair in Critical Thinking, Nick Hayes.

National Book Critics Circle Award Winner, Susan Stewart is the poet behind the books Red Rover (2008), The Forest (1995), and Columbarium (2003). Ann Hamilton is an internationally renowned visual artist known for the sensory surrounds of her large-scale multimedia installations. Join us Sunday, March 19th, as they participate in a collaborative performance of their pieces, "Channel" and "Mirror." 

There will also be a viewing of Michael Mercil's film Covenant and a discussion with the three artists about collaboration among artists of different mediums. 

Susan Stewart, 2016 Sister Mariella Gable winner, will also be doing a public reading of her various works at Saint Benedict on Tuesday, March 21st.
