CSB 2014 Summer Housing

CSB students living on the St. Ben's campus for the summer will have the option of living in McDonald, Wirth and Zierden, Olheiser, Wagner or Wedl Apartments. SJU students living on the St. Ben's campus for the summer will have the option of living in McDonald or Zierden Apartments.

A limited amount of temporary housing is available for CSB students in Dominica until June 1, 2014. Students utilize temporary housing for a variety of reasons including short summer courses, completion of student teaching requirements, athletics, accommodation of travel plans, or preparation for the NCLEX exam.

Olheiser, Wagner or Wedl Apartments are four-person, four bedroom apartments. McDonald, Wirth and Zierden Apartments are four-person, two-bedroom apartments. No single apartments, single rooms or apartments with single bedrooms are available for SJU students residing at CSB.

Who is eligible for CSB summer housing?

Current CSB/SJU students (who are registered for fall 2014 classes) can live on the CSB campus if they are:

  • Employed on the CSB/SJU campus (20 hours per week minimum). The Student Employment Office will verify employment.

AND/OR

  • Taking summer classes at CSB/SJU. Class registration will be verified through the Registrar's Office.

All summer applicants must be registered for fall 2014 classes. Class registration will be verified through the Registrar's Office. Applicants who have been documented for repeated or serious disciplinary/conduct issues may not be approved to live on campus this summer. CSB students who are taking classes at SCSU or working off-campus will be offered summer housing on a first come first served basis after those who meet first priority guidelines. In addition, applicants who are staying the whole summer have priority over those staying for only a portion of the summer.

What does CSB summer housing cost?

CSB summer housing will be available at the rate of $84.00 per week per resident. The cost for temporary housing will be $80.50 per week per resident. Summer and temporary rent will be assessed in June based upon the dates of your summer housing agreement. All payments should be sent to the CSB Student Accounts office. Cancellation of summer housing or adjustment of summer housing arrival/departure dates after Room Selection may result in an administrative fee equal to one week's rent. CSB Residential Life may not be able to accommodate adjustments to summer housing dates.

Can I choose my CSB summer housing roommates?

The CSB summer housing application includes a place for applicants to list the names of people they would like to room with. People wishing to share an apartment for the summer must all request to live with each other. Each summer housing resident must fill out an application.

Those looking for a summer roommate will be able to search through a list of summer housing applicants who are also searching for a roommate.

When do I move into CSB summer housing?

All CSB campus residents will move to their summer or temporary housing on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 between 10:00am and 8:00pm. CSB students must move on this designated day! SJU students may begin moving into CSB summer housing on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Please contact the CSB Residential Life office if you have questions or concerns regarding this timeline.

When do I move out of CSB summer housing?

CSB summer housing ends at 10.00 pm on Saturday, August 9, 2014. All CSB Students who will be living on campus during fall semester of the 2014-2015 academic year will move to their fall housing at this time. You will need to go to the Mary Commons Information Desk between 8:00am and 8:00pm to pick-up your academic year move-in packet. CSB students living off campus or going abroad for the fall semester will need to arrange for off campus housing after Saturday, August 9, 2014. SJU students will move in to their fall housing at SJU at this time.

All summer to fall moves must be completed by 10:00pm on Saturday, August 9th so plan your work schedules and travels early and make arrangements to move out on this weekend. If you plan to be gone during this period you may need to move off campus completely and move back into your fall housing when you return. Please plan accordingly!

How do I apply for CSB summer housing 2014?

The application process will open April 1st and the priority application deadline is Sunday, April 27, 2014. After the priority deadline, summer housing will be assigned on a first come first served basis until filled. Space is limited, please apply early!

If you are doing research with one of the academic departments, you still need to fill out this application and meet all application deadlines.

Room Selection will take place on May 1st. Pre-Registration will begin March 26, 2014.
