Larry Christen

Larry Christen is facilities director at the College of Saint Benedict, where he has worked since 1984. He oversees the custodial and maintenance departments and serves on the safety, benefits, and benedictine values committees.

In the spring of 2002, Larry was the recipient of the CSB extraordinary performance award.

In addition to facilities director, Larry has served the college as director of custodial maintenance, supervisor of the maintenance/groundskeeping department, and originally in the physical plant/maintenance department. While employed at the College, Larry has attended seminars to learn more about directing his department. These include the MASMS and the employee leadership development and teambuilding seminars.

Before coming to the College of Saint Benedict, Larry attended a 5-year post-secondary trade school where he became a licensed journeyman machinist and aerospace worker. He also became a certified locksmith through the best lock master systems company and has advanced training in HVAC/EMS Landis & Gyro (Siemens') Minneapolis.

Larry is active in the Saint Joseph community outside his work at the College of Saint Benedict. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and is the chair of the Saint Joseph Parish festival committee. Larry has been a board member of the Waite Park Babe Ruth Baseball Program for 30 years and has also been a youth baseball coach.
