Career Services welcomes students back to campus
Welcome back to all parents, and a special welcome to first-year parents! We look forward to the year ahead and partnering with you to inform you about events/resources in Career Services that your student should know about.
A couple important resources we want to ensure you are aware of are the 2013-2014 Career Exploration Series (CES), as well as our 6th annual Career EXPO on Wednesday, Nov. 6th.
- Career Exploration Series (CES) : Panels of alumnae and alumni help students translate a liberal arts education into a career. The panels are for all students, first years through seniors, to gather information about major and career options, learn about pursuing internships, jobs or graduate school, and to network/connect with professionals. Sample topics include: Careers for Psychology Majors, What Can I do with an Accounting/Finance Major, and Creative Careers.
- Career EXPO: This event includes three facets: Career Seminars (20 panels of alumnae and alumni talking with students about major options and career possibilities), a Career Fair, and a Networking Reception with alumnae and alumni. Last year, the Career EXPO was a success with over 650 students, 190 alumnae and alumni, and 55 organizations participating in the event. This event is designed for students of all classes, majors, and interests. You don't want your son or daughter to miss this one.
As you talk with your student about how fall semester is going, be sure to remind them of these opportunities and encourage them to visit Career Services; CSB - Academic Services Building; SJU - Mary Hall 10; for more information.
