Kathy Dotzler

For Kathy Dotzler, wine has always been rooted in romance and adventure. It was on her Napa Valley honeymoon in 1997 that she first fell in love with the land. Kathy, and her husband Frank, bought a 20-acre parcel and set out to make a dream come true, naming the place True Vineyard. Their winemaking philosophy came together at True. How to yield the best, not the most, from each vine. And how to produce wine that embodies a sense of place.

In 2003, they expanded their dream, acquiring Outpost Winery and Vineyard. Since then, Kathy and Frank have blazed a long and fruitful trail, working to capture the magic and beauty of Napa Valley's Howell Mountain district in some of the world's best wines.

In 2015 Kathy and Frank fulfilled their vision of a second winery, Mending Wall- an exclusive Napa wine brand and custom crush facility, where Kathy has expanded on her love of combining production, hospitality, and design.

Kathy's 'front of the house' skills have focused on, in her words, the lost art of hospitality.  This includes going above and beyond, noting that the personalization of the guest experience is what keeps your business successful. Kathy attended the College of Saint Benedict in 1978/79
