Dan McKeown

 

Daniel W. McKeown is CEO/President of Specialty Mfg. Co. of St. Paul, MN.  Specialty Mfg. Co., a privately held company, which has been in business for 115 years. It started as Lawn & Garden business in 1900 selling grass catchers and hose reels.  Today, SMC is a diversified manufacturing company with four product divisions selling flow control products in the water filtration, pool & spa, cleaning & sanitation, beverage, dental, HVAC, agriculture, and a variety of other industries.  Two other contract divisions specialize on custom built fixtures and machines for other factories and contract molding, machining, and stamping services.  The company employs over 200 people, manufacturing such items as check valves, ball valves, pneumatic valves, hydraulic couplers, peristaltic pumps, flow meters, and digital flow controls. SMC operates out of its main campus in White Bear Lake, MN with 200,000 sq. feet of warehouse and corporate office.  It has additional facilities in New Ulm, MN and Granite Falls, MN.

Dan McKeown was born in Minnesota and graduated from Woodbury High School in 1981. He received his degree in Economics from St. John's University, Collegeville, MN in 1985.   He serves on the Board of St. John University and Platinum Bank.  He has served on numerous boards including the Mounds Park Academy, the Rotary Club of St. Paul, Boss Foundation, and St. Michael Lutheran Church.  Dan and his wife, Heidi, have two children, Desmond '15 and Isabel '18
