Scott Becker

Scott BScott L. Becker is a Founder and Managing Partner of Northstar Capital, LLC. Scott has wide-ranging experience as a private equity and mezzanine investor with specific strengths in fundraising, investment origination, and managing portfolio exits. He is responsible for all aspects of investment management at Northstar and directs fundraising and legal documentation activities for the General Partner and its limited partnerships. Northstar manages over $1 billion in 6 separate partnerships.

Prior to founding Northstar, Scott was Manager of Investments at Adler Management, the private family office of Gerald Rauenhorst, founder of Opus Corporation. He also has previous experience in corporate development at General Mills, Inc. and small business loan origination at Control Data Business Centers, Inc.

Scott received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Saint John’s University, an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota, and a J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law.

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and serves as an Advisory Board member of the Private Investment Fund of Saint John’s University. While at SJU, he played for the legendary John Gagliardi on his 1976 National Championship football team. He now serves as a volunteer youth coach in his community. Scott enjoys teambuilding and is an active marathoner, including participation in The Boston Marathon.
